For about a year I interviewed family, friends, and strangers in Mexico.

They have related their experiences of incidents of discrimination

and racism.

Carrying these stories into 'Second Nature', I have researched how

search engine algorithms reinforce stereotypes by pre-selecting

what images are seen online.

I want to make these power structures visible and examine the impact

of the biased thinking they perpetuate.

Search algorithms influence what images we see online.

How does this relate to lived experiences of discrimination? How can

we make this connection visible?
